The Hammond Artist - Denmark | | | Anders Haahr - Danmark “I have been madly in love with the Hammond organ, since I, as a young kid, was introduced to Hammond artists like Jon Lord, Keith Emmerson, Booker T. Jones and Billy Preston. It’s hard to define exactly what it is, but a Hammond organ is not only an instrument. It’s a sensation, it’s an emotional interface that in moments can convey you from an inner-peace-hymn-like state of mind, to the roaring empowering sensation of a steam train” | See all Hammond artists - click here . | | | The Hammond Artist - Sweden | | | Andreas Hellkvist - Sweden For the last 30 years, the Hammond organ has been the focus of my life. It is the only instrument through which I can express my full musical being. The souljazz of the 60s is what drew me in, but over the years I have treaded a plethora of musical paths, from jazz, blues and gospel to pop and rock, and more experimental music. What is so fascinating is that you can always find a place in the soundspace, regardless of whether you're playing all by yourself, using the organ to it's fullest, or being part of a bigger ensemble, just complementing the sound of the orchestra. And everything in between. After all these years I am still amazed by the seemingly endless possibilites of sounds, grooves and music that you can create on a Hammond. And I will never stop exploring them. | See all Hammond artists - click here . | | | |
